On The Grill: Grilled Chicken Wings Recipe

In honor of the first day of summer this weekend, we are debuting a summer grilling blog series! Each week we will feature some of our favorite grill recipes and grilling tips to keep your BBQs fun & your grilling skills fresh. Today we are featuring a grilled wing recipe that can serve as a base for your favorite sauce, or whip up one of these tasty ones we have here. We served these to guests in simple sand pails that make for a cute detail. Label and personalize with your very own stickers!

Wings Grilled to Perfection

Fire up the grill! It’s going to be a hot one!

Prepare sauce first.

Balsamic Barbecue Sauce

  • cup balsamic vinegar
  • 3/4 cup ketchup
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • garlic clove, minced
  • tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepperCombine all ingredients in a small saucepan and whisk until mixture is smooth. Simmer over medium heat until sauce is reduced by 1/3, about 15 to 20 minutes.

 

 


Chimichurri Sauce

  • 2 c Flat Leaf Parsley
  • 1/4 c Fresh Oregano
  • 4 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 2 Serrano Chiles
  • 1 c Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • 1/4 c Red Wine Vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
    Pulse in a food processor, leaving pieces (do not blend completely).

Sweet & Spicy Wings

 

Sweet & Spicy BBQ

  • 1  medium onion, chopped
  • 4 Garlic Cloves, minced
  • 1 c Ketchup
  • 2 T Brown Sugar
  • 1 tsp Liquid Smoke
  • 2 T Worcestershire Sauce
  • 2 tsp Soy Sauce
  • 1/4 c Karo Syrup
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon cayenneSaute onion and garlic in oil until soft and translucent. Add ketchup and brown sugar, and stir over low heat until blended. Add in remaining ingredients and cook over low heat until thick (about 20 min).
Grilled Teriyaki Wings

Grilled Teriyaki Wings


Teriyaki
1 c
Water
1 c Soy Sauce
1 c Honey
1/4 c Pineapple Juice
1/4 c Vegetable Oil
1 tsp. Fresh Ginger, minced
1 tsp. Fresh Garlic, minced

  • Whisk together the water, soy sauce, honey, pineapple juice, vegetable oil, garlic, and ginger in a large bowl until combined.

 

 

 


Grilled Chicken Wings

  • 30 frozen chicken wings, thawed
  • 1/4 cup cider vinegar
  • 1/4 cup olive oil or vegetable oil
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • Prepared Sauce

1. In a large plastic bag, combine the oil, vinegar, salt and pepper.
2. Add in chicken wings, 10 at a time, making sure to coat all pieces.
3. Spray grill rack with grilling spray. Grill wings, covered, over medium heat, turning occasionally and basting with more sauce. (about 10-15 minutes)
4. Uncover and grill until thoroughly cooked. Toss with more sauce and serve.
