Tell us a little bit about yourself and Mr. & Mrs. Wedding Events.
I started Mr. & Mrs. Wedding Events almost 3 years ago, with a deep love for stylish and classic St. Louis love affairs. My married monogram is MRS, and my husband (the Mr.) has always been my strongest ally in business, so the company name has special meaning to us. It’s a boutique company, meaning I only take a limited number of weddings per year, to insure personal attention to detail for each couple we work with. It’s the best job in the world!
What is your favorite part of your job as a planner?
I consider myself incredibly blessed to have a job where I get to help friends plan such a special day in their lives. We grow so close over the time we spend working together, and for me it feels completely natural for that relationship to continue past the wedding day. We go for happy hour at Sasha’s and they tag me in pug videos on Facebook. This year, three past brides wrote to tell me they were expanding their family, and my heart burst with joy!

If the timeline permits, I always love to fit in a reception room reveal for the bride and groom. For Lauren & Bob, we had been working together all year to create a day that was an exceptional reflection of their relationship. This included an intimate, community-style dinner with custom beer flights for each guest, paired with the dinner. Bob even volunteered to hand construct the wooden table number stands, which mimicked clip boards, a nod to Lauren being a school principle. It was so unique and absolutely perfect. By the time their wedding day came we were truly friends, and when they walked into their reception for the first time we all cried and hugged!
What are some benefits to hiring a planner?
You can’t put a price on being a guest at your own wedding, or the peace of mind that comes from being confident in your planning decisions. It’s easy to think this could be accomplished by hiring a “day-of coordinator,” but your wedding day deserves the absolute best! I not only want to help bring that Pinterest inspiration to life, but also show you ideas you never even thought possible. All while keeping you abundantly organized and stress-free, of course!
What is your favorite wedding food… EVER?
Cake. No shame.
Any tips for someone looking to pop the question?
Even as someone who hates surprises… it should be a surprise! I knew Spencer was going to ask me to marry him, but I had no idea when or how he was going to do it. I still love telling the story of our proposal – ask me about it sometime!
Why is St. Louis an amazing place to have a wedding?
The best thing about getting married in St. Louis is the flexibility to have exactly the wedding you’ve dreamed of, without any constraints. There are so many unique venues and creative vendors that you don’t have to worry about having the exact same wedding as your friend. Your wedding day can be a reflection of your relationship without spending a fortune!
