Ces and Judy’s Catering caterers to Mahler Ballroom St. Louis. In 1860, Albert Mahler a European immigrant, opened a dance academy in St. Louis at 3rd and Pine Streets, a little west of where the Gateway Arch now stands. In 1907 Albert Mahler commissioned famed architect Theodore Link to build a combination ballroom and family house on Washington Boulevard in the city's Central West End. The 16,000 square foot structure cost $55,000, an exorbitant sum at the time. Albert's son Jacob took over the business. Every other Friday, Mahler's evening dances, called "Fortnightlies", enlivened the St. Louis scene. When he died in 1928, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch noted that Jacob Mahler and The Magnificent Mahler Ballroom occupied a unique and extraordinary place in the St. Louis Community. Since 1928, the Ballroom has played host to government dignitaries, state functions, live plays and movie sets.
In 2004, the Magnificent Mahler Ballroom came under new ownership. The building got a total facelift, and once again the Ballroom offers the perfect setting for a bride's dream wedding to be made a reality.
